Wrinkles come with age. Nobody likes wrinkles. It spoils a wonderful exuberant appearance and makes an irritating sight. You can’t stop aging but you can prevent wrinkles from showing in your skin. Wrinkles are creases or furrows on a smooth surface, such as our skin. Imaging our skin, crumpling or stretching and shrinking also produces wrinkles. It’s not nice to see. Beware of the sun. People go out of their ways to get a tan not realizing the harm it will cause to their skin. You get a lovely tanned effect now but in the process, you are just accelerating the start of the wrinkles. Apply a broad spectrum sunscreen with a high sun protection factor rating. If you bask in the sun often, put a fresh coating every four hours. Be careful when you go swimming. Because of the cool water, you might not notice the sun’s heat on your skin. The reflection of the sun off the water also speeds up the heating process. You end up with a bad sunburn which ultimately affects your skin. Put a lot of suntan lotion and apply it often if you plan to stay in the water for a long time. Wearing a hat or using an umbrella prevents the sun’s rays from reaching your skin. Use hats with wide brims so it can cover a large portion of your face.

Drink a lot of liquid. The liquid will keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. It will keep the skin moist and supple. If possible, drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Not only will it help hydrate your skin but it provides a lot of other benefits, such as easier digestion and thorough cleansing of your internal organs.

Use moisturizers as often as needed. It provides nourishment to the skin from the outside. There are a number of moisturizers in the market. Choose a moisturized that meets the needs of your skin type.

Stress and awkward positions can also cause wrinkles. Frowning produces creases in your brow. Squinting happens when people have a hard time seeing an object. Unconsciously they squint to focus on a hazy image. It may work but it can cause tension in your face and result in wrinkles. Try to be conscious of your facial expressions and avoid the expressions that could result in wrinkles. Worries and anger are emotions that also cause wrinkles in the face. The face uses more muscles when aggravated as compared to a smiling happy face. So be happy and keep on smiling. Not only does it send a cheerful message to the people you meet but it also helps stop your face from wrinkling.

Eat healthy food. Go for food that is rich in vitamins and nutrients. Vitamins A, C, E and K help produce radiant skin. If you still encounter problems, try seeing a skin specialist. There may be other issues or illnesses that present themselves through the conditions of the skin.
