Something Better than Botox

Some women are simply addicted to Botox. As you grow older, you can’t help but fall victim to numbers. The higher these go, the more wrinkles you’ll have to deal with. You can always go under the knife and look younger than ever. Of course, there will always be risks involved. The more cuts you’ll have, the longer it’ll take for you to fully heal. When you simply can’t take the time off from work, you have other options available for you, and the best part is, these aren’t nearly as invasive. Technology has afforded you with a multitude of cosmetic solutions, and the biggest thing that punctures your skin is a syringe.

Many of the cosmetic injections or surgeries available these days focus on tightening your skin. When it stretches, lines and wrinkles disappear, thus, making you look youthful once more. Botox is one example, and you’ll find that many women highly recommend it. But like technology, new developments are constantly emerging. Today, a procedure that’s becoming more popular is Restylane injection. It can effectively smooth out wrinkles from your face. But more than that, it also sculpts your lips. What sets this apart from the other injectable fillers is its distinct chemical composition. The treatment was first available in Sweden and it has also been used around Europe for quite some time now. Because it has garnered so many positive feedbacks, the people from the United States have also caught on.

As of today, Restylane is the only dermal filler that has been fully approved by the Food and Drugs Association, and that’s because its components are natural and present in all living things. The biodegradable hyaluronic acid is said to be the safest yet. When this acid is injected within your skin, you’ll see your face gaining volume. Where gravity has taken over, you’ll see that everything has been lifted. A clear gel-like substance is injected directly, and most of the people who have gone through this treatment are those aged 35 and over.

This injection is always done in your cosmetic surgeon's clinic because a local anesthetic is involved. You may feel some form of discomfort, but this usually doesn’t last very long. Give yourself 15 minutes to go through the entire process and you can head home after that. As for the healing time, you may need to stay indoors for two to three days. So, if you’re planning a beach trip somewhere, you may want to push the date back further.

While Restylane injections are actually quite safe and very effective, you may notice redness, inflammation, bruising, and slight soreness soon after. If any of the above-mentioned side-effects appear, you shouldn’t panic. However, when you get flu-like symptoms, you should immediately pay a visit to your physician. While the healing time is quite fast, you may need a follow-up after a year or so, but this also depends on how extensive it was. And unlike Botox, toxins aren’t injected to your skin and the results last a lot longer.
